Natural Stone Collection
Granite is a natural stone and has been used as a building material for many centuries. Granite is an igneous rock, which means that it is formed by volcanic activity, which strength approaches that of diamonds. Granite is composed mainly of quartz and feldspar with minor amounts of mica, amphiboles and other minerals. Granite is very durable and can only be scratched by something harder than granite. Granite can withstand heat up to 1200 degrees F.
Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone has been melted and allowed to resolidify. Sealing your marble countertops will make them more resistant to stains, but doesn't prevent etching. Wipe up spills immediately and never leave anything such as wine, olive oil, lemon juice, or even water on your marble countertops overnight.
Onyx countertops are quite rare. They have a unique and awesome look. An onyx countertop is translucent and often, onyx is backlit to take advantage of this unique property.
Limestone tops and similarly travertine tops offer a distinctive alternative to granite. Limestone is an extremely versatile natural stone and is commonly used both inside and outside the home. Limestone is inherently porous.
Quartzite is a naturally occurring metamorphic rock. It is created when sandstone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure. Quartzite is harder than granite, so it is quite durable. It withstands heat very well. Quartzite is an exotic stone that has a similar look to marble but is much more durable and is on the higher end of the natural stone collection.
Quartz Collection
Founded in 1987, Caesarstone was an early pioneer of the natural quartz surfaces market. The manufacture of slabs from a mixture of ground quartz aggregates, pigments and polymers proved to be the unique components necessary for this new generation of surfacing. As a result of this advanced technology, Caesarstone is able to provide improved products with unprecedented physical properties superior to those of marble, granite and other manufactured surfaces.
